Annual General Meeting - June 23, 2019
Although a bit later than usual, we had our meeting after our match today. We had a nice lunch then proceeded with the meeting. Last years winners were awarded their prizes (see Competition Winners Page). Erle Sexsmith had copies of last year's finances, and how we are to present and handed them out for the members to view. Finances were excepted as presented. No new business was put forward so we went directly in to selecting this year's Executive. Allan Hepburn accepted the position of Captain, and Stewart Lawrence accepted the position of Vice Captain. All other executives accepted to remain as is.
Annual General Meeting - May 27th, 2018
Captain Gordon opened the meeting after we enjoyed a delicious hamburger and salad lunch with cake. Gordon first distributed prize envelopes to last season's winners. FedUp Cup 1st was Jack McAllister, 2nd was Stewart Lawrence & 3rd was Allan Hepburn; Best 18 of 36 went to Stewart (again); Matchplay champ was Gordon; and our Club Champion was Norm Sinclair. Erle presented the annual financial statement showing a net loss of $136 for the year and a bank balance to start this year of $574.07. Gordon opened the floor to nominations for executive positions and the following were elected ~ Captain: Mike Elliott; Vice-Captain: Allan Hepburn; Secretary: Andy Yule; Treasurer: Erle Sexsmith; Tournament Director & Handicap Chairman: Jack McAllister. There was no new business.

1.0 The meeting opened with a thanks from Club Captain Gord McKinlay which was held after our game this morning.
2.0 Jack McAllister gave his report on 2016 Season Winners

3.0 Erle gave a report (from memory) of the financial status of the club, which seems to be in good standing.
4.0 No new busines was indicated, and thus the election of the Committee was initiated. Gordon was asked if he would carry on as Club Captain and if he thought that Jack Blellock would also carry on as Vice Captain. He indicated he would carry on as Club Captain and hoped that Jack B would also do the same. The remainder of the committee also carried on.

1.0 The meeting opened with a thanks from Club Captain Mike Elliott to the other executive members for their help throughout the year and to Jack McAllister for his help as the Tournament Director.
2.0 Jack McAllister gave his report on 2015 Season Winners and proposed Calendar for 2016 and attendance record and special events.

There are a number of vacancies this year. Annual fees, $50:00 for this year, to be paid by Opening Day, May 01, 2016. Jack McAllister identified that thru 2015 we averaged 11.70 members participating per week. Green Fees will remain at $42 as negotiated by Mike Elliott.

4.1 Schedule
Retain prize format from previous year.
Add possibly 1 prize for low putts for a group on a particular day.
Guys and Dolls may not be feasible.
4.2 Discussion held re moving to Columbus for the Club, but after various points brought up, decided to see if fees at Sunnybrae could be negotiated lower. Mike Elliott to follow up on this subject with Sunnybrae Management. Consensus was if we moved to Columbus could precipitate the end of the Club.

4.0 New Business
4.1 Based on an email from Andy Yule there was a discussion regarding the opening day draw for prize-money. With a declining membership the issue of how prize-money should be awarded provided several suggestions. In the end it was decided to scrap the opening day draw and apply the money to competitions throughout the season. The idea being to give any participant a chance to win any time during the golf year. These prizes are in addition to the regular prizes awarded for club championship, fedup cup and match play. Depending on revenue the some second and third prizes may be discontinued, committee to decide. The competitions will be decided by Jack and committee members, however you suggestions are welcome. It was also decided to discontinue the father and son day.
4.2 Membership
There are a number of vacancies this year. Annual fees, $50:00 for this year, are normally payable by April 01, but because of the late date for the AGM this will be extended to Opening Day, May 04 2014. Jack McAllister identified that thru 2013 we averaged 14 members participating per week. The most we had was 20 and the least 8. Andy and Jim Grifin had perfect attendance.
4.3 2014 Marigold Golf Schedule
The draft schedule was discussed and will be finalized by the new executive.

Annual General Meeting ? 10 March 2013
1. The Meeting opened with Andy Yule handling proceedings. Thanks given to all members for a
successful year.
2. Erle then gave out the prizes for 2012 Competitions. Club Champion ? Mike Elliott, Matchplay ? Andy
Yule, Best 18 of 36 ? Chris Devine, Fed up Cup ? Jack McAllister, Allan Hepburn and Andy Yule, and
Marigold Challenge ? Chris Devine and Jack Blellock.
3. Treasurers report was given by Erle Sexsmith and the consensus was that the Club was in a good
financial position, although we had additional expenses last year. Bill Robertson and Andy Yule
accepted report.
4. A report that the Guys and Dolls was once again a great success.

6. New Business
Annual Fees to remain at $50, to be paid by April 14th.
Blue Tees, White Tees for over 65?s to remain.
Members reminded to promote membership in the Club as there are a number of vacancies.
7. Existing competitions will continue, with changes to Matchplay scoring. Scoring will now be 2 points
for a draw, and 4 points for a win. This proposal was promoted by Mike Elliott after reviewing past
results, thus hoping to increase the competition towards the end of the season, and will be
monitored by Mike.
8. 2013 Schedule to be finalized and will be handed out and posted on the website.
9. Rules. Marigold Local Rules are printed on the rear of Season Schedule. Note that on the 1st and
9th holes of the Links, there will be no free lift from the ditch, unless there is standing water.
10. A Vote of Thanks was proposed for Stewart McLean, for the many years involved with the Marigold
and the amount of work he has done for the Club in past years.
As usual we will have competitions running concurrent with the regular match and stroke play games it will be more important than ever that everyone putt out and abide by the fundamental rule of the club ?Play the Ball as it Lies?. The Captain or designate will decide if the course merits winter rules. Otherwise don?t touch or move that ball unless you?re willing to incur the appropriate penalty and if you can?t identify your ball without picking it up put a mark on it so that you can tell it?s yours.
